Chances are, you already know the advantages of a natural, inert gas system. It’s the safe, natural way to extinguish a fire. But did you know Fike has developed a superior new alternative? It’s called PROINERT™. PROINERT offers all the benefits of previous inert gas systems with several significant design improvements. You’ll find our new solution is safer and more economical than any other system on the market.

Companies around the world have the need to protect their high value assets e.g. computer rooms, control rooms, etc. from fire because the corresponding downtime for repair and clean up can put them out of business. The fire protection industry is offering several choices for the fire protection of high value assets.

This document is aimed at those giving sales presentations to enable them to answer queries raised by the audience.
Code: TG 001
Supplier: Fike
This document provides an overview on ventilation requirements by comparing a current typical inert gas system utilising an orifice pressure reducer and decaying flow rate discharge to that of the ProInertTM Fire Extinguishing system which incorporates a unique valve design which provides a constant flow rate discharge.
Code: TG 002
Supplier: Fike
The Fike ProInert Fire Extinguishing System design includes a distinct pressure regulating valve assembly different than standard inert gas systems on the market. This distinct design offers pipe and installation advantages resulting in overall system cost savings.

IG-55 is an inert gas mixture consisting nominally of 50% argon and 50% nitrogen. IG-55 can be used as total flooding fire suppression system protecting hazards against most flammable substances. IG-55 extinguishant is particularly useful where an environmentally acceptable fire extinguishing system is essential, where an electrically non-conductive medium is needed and where people compatibility is necessary.
Code: C.2.27.01
Supplier: Fike
Fike ProInert Cylinders are offered in an 80-litre size and filled to a pressure of 200 or 300 bar. The cylinders may be utilized in single or multiple cylinder applications as needed and linked together through a common discharge manifold.
Code: C.2.28.01
Supplier: Fike
The Fike ProInert Valve Assembly is a unique self pressure regulating valve. The ProInert Valve Assembly is a forged "brass" body which is actuated pneumatically. All valves are equipped with a safety relief disc that will rupture if the cylinder pressure exceeds a preset value.
Code: C.2.29.01
Supplier: Fike
The Discharge Hose Kit, IG71-003, is used to provide a flexible connection between the ProInert cylinder valve and the discharge piping or the distribution manifold. The Discharge Hose Kit includes a check valve to prevent loss of agent should the system discharge while a cylinder is removed for service.
Code: C.2.30.01
Supplier: Fike
The function of the ProInert Discharge Nozzle, in a fire extinguishing system, is to distribute the inert gas in a uniform, predetermined pattern and concentration. The nozzles are designed to complete the discharge of inert gas in 60 seconds, or less, when installed within the design limitations of the Fike ProInert Design.
Code: C.2.32.01
Supplier: Fike
The Fike ProInert Manifolds are offered in 2, 3, 4 and 5 cylinder configurations. For systems that require more than 5 cylinders, manifolds must be interconnected into a common feed pipe.
Code: C.2.33.01
Supplier: Fike
Cylinder Racking Assemblies are designed to support ProInert cylinder on multiple or main/reserve cylinder applications. Cylinder Racking Assemblies are available in single, double or triple row configurations. All necessary hardware and support material are supplied with each assembly.
Code: C.2.34.01
Supplier: Fike
Instructional signs must be supplied to provide a ProInert system in which the functions of all devices are easy to understand.
Code: C.2.35.01
Supplier: Fike
Part Number IG71-014 Cylinder Mounting Straps are used to secure 267mm diameter ProInert cylinders to a wall or other suitable mounting surface.
Code: C.2.36.01
Supplier: Fike
The ProInert Actuation Package contains an electrically activated solenoid valve connected to a rechargeable nitrogen cylinder, that when operated allows pressure from the nitrogen cylinder to flow into the pneumatic actuator on the ProInert valve.
Code: C.2.37.01
Supplier: Fike
The Slave Actuation Package, P/N IG71-019 is utilized to operate a Selector Valve or up to 60 additional ProInert valve pneumatic actuators. It consists of a pneumatic valve assembly and a rechargeable nitrogen cylinder and is pneumatically operated from the ProInert Solenoid Actuation Package, P/N IG71-017.
Code: C.2.38.01
Supplier: Fike
The Fike ProInertTM Manifold Collector Assemblies are available for 10, 15, 20 and 30 cylinder configurations. Each manifold connector comes pre-assembled to allow connection to the standard ProInert Manifolds.
