There will be NO changes to the approval status of any HFCs in any fire protection applications.
In a long-awaited final rule published on September 26, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) clearly established HFC-based clean agent fire extinguishants as approved for long-term usage.
The pre-publication version of U.S. EPA Final Rule 21 - New listings of Safer Substitutes and Prohibition on the use of Certain High-GWP alternatives - was released earlier this week.
This is great news for the fire extinguishants industry
